How do I clean costume jewelry that was in a jewelry box that survived a flood?

I use rubbing alcohol the clean my wifes. I like the clear best but the colored will work just as good.Hope it works for you.

these must be VERY precious to you spray with windex rub with alcholhal then pat down with damp cloth drop in warm glass of water then drop an alka selster tablet leave in untill fizzys go away
should come out just like new works even on plastic and plated gold
I clean ALL of my jewery with this methiod
