Nacre? Where can I get some nacre, for ‘painting’ and repairing ‘pearls’ on costume jewelry?
By
I have several pieces of Costume Jewelry that have little pearls on them. One in particular, a marvelous old pin, would look perfect if only the surface of all of the ‘pearls’ were complete.
I know that it used to be possible to buy nacre. I think this was crushed mother-of-pearl or even crushed pearls, in solution of some kind. The nacre would be painted over the surface of the ‘pearls’ to give them an authentic appearance.
Where can this be bought, today?
