I THINK ITS JUST DREADFUL. Goth is a subculture NOT a TREND.

ALEXIS B: The reason ‘goth’ poseurs are bad is because they are the wrong people to represent goth and they go by stereotypes like that article. You will NEVER see a prep wannabe attempt something like a school shooting, no it’s the goth WANNABE. People are natural copycats. But goths rather have the best representation.

Goth is subculture and it’s not only about the clothes,it’s so much more!!Can’t all this posers wear all the other trendy clothes they like or whatever and leave the Goth subculture out of this..!!
It’s getting annoying watching all those kids dressed in black and if you ask them sth about Goth they have no idea what it is…!!!

If people actually follow this article and TRY to be goth, wouldn’t that make them a poser?
To me yeah, that article is so dumb. If it was an article on Goth clothing and it’s progressions, and not a "Wear this and You’ll be Cool the Goth Way," maybe it wouldn’t be as bad.
But this is just plain insulting to the wearers of black and lace.

Stupid. They’re just looking to cash in on something they won’t ever be able to understand. Wow. Being goth isn’t a fashion statement. It’s not a costume. It’s life.

I’m not goth, but I agree with you. How horrible, it’s not trend!
Do women actually feel this way? It sounds like something I would have read in jr high. I can’t believe grown women would fall for this.

Oh my goth… an article on how to be a spooky kid/poseur… that is so sad.
They could have at least said it was for halloween, or that it was for "imitating" goth… instead of trying to say it was goth…
Heck they did not even mention music at all, and it is a music subculture.
And those shoes… uggg… would not work in a club or concert at all… pointy boots, or clunky boots please.

I agree, it’s not a fall trend as they’re trying to make it, but rather a music subculture. I mean, at least they mentioned Victorian-styled clothes and not the ugly stuff like the things they sell at Hot Topic that the mainstream typically considers goth even though it’s not, so that’s something, but I still don’t like them trying to portray it as a new trend when it’s definitely not.
