is there any type of jewelry for people allergic to gold an silver?

By admin

ok well im 14 and i really wanna get my ear cartlidge pierced but mom keeps saying no becasue im allergic to gold and silver…not really allergic but like if i wear a pair of earings for a long time then my ears start to itch….. So i was wondering for anyone knows about a type of jewlry i could use instead…oh yeah and if anyone has theres pierced can you tell me how bad it hurts? thanks much love!

I have the same problem and after many years of not being able to wear jewelry not even my wedding ring because I got an infected finger nail, I went to a dermatologist and found out that it is not the gold or the silver that I am allergic to. It is the nickel that they add to the metals to make them harder to wear longer. I now buy nickel free jewelry and have never had another problem. I can where earrings and rings as long as they are nickel free. They are cheap to buy. So you can have many pairs and when they get old just throw them away. You can buy them pretty much anywhere they sell cheap jewelry like Walmart, K-mart, etc. You can buy a whole card with all different earrings on them in different sizes for about 6 dollars.
Try it and see if it works, you don’t have anything to loose since they cost so little. Surgical steel does not really work for me either, they still get infected and itch.

titanium steel….ask first…im not sure….but that is surgical steel used in all surguries. it is the least offensive to the human body.

metal

Try platinum . There costly but you wont have any problems .

yea, surgical steel should be fine. Those get infected pretty easily anyway, whatever you use. If it does get nasty you can go to the docs and get antibiotics (talking from one huge swollen ears worth of experience.)

Platinum and Titanium could do. You can give them a try.

I once got my belly pierced with titanium and had no problem.

Good luck :)

surgical steel. Also try wiping your lobe and earring, before inserting the earring, with alcohol swabs and put a film of neosporin or triple antibiotic cream on ear and earring. wash earrings each night before going to bed and do not sleep in them. this works for earrings not eyebrows or any other body piercing.

I get all my earrings from simplywhispers.com because cheap earrings make my ears sore. I got the cartilage in both my ears pierced about a year ago and it didn’t hurt at all to get done but they’ve been a pain to take care of. If I didn’t like them so well I’d have taken them out months ago.

My husband is and stainless steel rings and bracelets have done the trick….i think that platinum or titanium will do it too but they are wayyyyyyyy more expensive . Check some out at pricegrabber or any online shop
