Stones can be used to store energy, What is their limit?
ByI was told in another question that aside from wands, stones and jewelry can be used to focus/charge energy.
However, a warning was posted that stones had a limit and if they were imbued with too much energy, they’ll break or disappear.
How much energy can a stone store and how is heir limit determined?
D= Stop giving sarcastic answers. I’m not talking about physics, people.
I absolutely LOVE working with stones and crystals. Get the book "Love Is In The Earth" by Melody if you want to know more about each stone, including astrological signs, what number they vibrate to, how they are used for physical, spiritual and mental healing, plus a bit of historical reference. Good book to keep.
As for how you can tell if a stone has absorbed too much energy….it depends upon the stone. Crystals start off cold to the touch and as they work, they automatically heat up, sometimes to the point of actually being HOT, almost burning a person’s hand. That is when you remove the crystal from what you were doing with it, say on a chakra point or if you were wearing it as jewelry. Wait for it to cool off a bit and then run it under cold water in the nearest faucet. This removes the stored negative energy that is has pulled off you or the person you were healing.
If you are using natural, unpolished black stones or river rock for healing, they work differently. You can actually heat them up (as in a Hot Stone Massage) and they do their work hot. They should be charged to be as an abyss to hold and store as much bad mojo as the person can release during a healing session. When you are done, again, hold the rock under cold running water.
If a stone breaks, it has done its job. Don’t ask for it to do any more. Bury it with respect and thanks back into Mother Earth for a good job well done. Mother Earth will heal the stone and then allow it to bless and charge your yard and garden and the animals that live there.
Periodically, cleanse your stones and crystals under the sun (a full 10 hours if you can); under the Full Moon or during the Eclipse (can’t now for another 2 years!). You can even cleanse them by setting them out during a very good thunderstorm, especially if there is a rainbow.
As you work with your stones, they will become very familiar to you and you will be possessive of anyone who touches them. Listen to your stones and you will feel each one vibrate. The book recommended above gives even more detail in working with and charging them.
Happy Journey!

Depends upon how heavy the stone is and how high you

well yes, heat is a form of energy and it depends of which element they are composed to determ the limit.

Sorry, there really is no easy answer. It really depends on the stone and what you are using it for.
Fluorite for example is a "soft" stone, and tends to break easily if it takes on to much. Quartz stones however are much more "hardy" and can take much more.
The key is to take care of your stones. Cleanse them often, especially if you’ve been using them intensely. If a stone begins to jump out of your hands, or you start ignoring a stone, cleanse and clear it. They need TLC sometimes too.
